Description: This point feature class is used by LACPW's Sewer Maintenance Division to represent various sewer system components including valves, fittings, cleanouts, and low-pressure system components. With the adoption of the first low-pressure system in LA County's Sewer Network, a need arose for a point feature class other than the Sewer Manhole feature class.Principal attributes include:SEWER_COMPONENT_TYPE – this field is used to document the broader component typeValve – a valve is used to provide a form of system isolation, allowing maintenance crews to conduct maintenance activitiesFitting – a pipe component such as a bend, wye, or tee that may serve as a junction for several sewer pipesCleanout – a terminal structure along a pipe run that allows access for cleaning at one endSEWER_COMPONENT_SUBTYPE: this field is used to document a more specific component type, such as a combination air release / vacuum valveLOCATION: a textual description of the component’s locationJUR: the City or Community where the feature existsRECORD_DRAWING_NAME: the name of the record drawing that shows the componentMAINTAINED_BY: field to document the party responsible for the component’s maintenanceCOMPONENT_MATERIAL: a field to list the component material type
