Description: This dataset represents the locations and attributes of Department of Public Works (DPW) raised pavement marker (RPM) assets maintained by the Operational Services Division (OSD) within Los Angeles County jurisdiction. Raised pavement markers are roadway devices installed on or within the pavement to supplement pavement markings, improve lane delineation, and provide visual guidance to motorists.This layer was developed to support asset management, field maintenance, raised pavement marker inventory and tracking, and integration with the County’s Asset Management System, Trimble Unity.Field Definitions / Attribute Overview:This dataset contains key attribute fields describing each raised pavement marker asset. Note that values may be missing as this is an ongoing effort to reconcile and input our asset data. Notable/unique fields for Raised Pavement Markers include:CW_ASSETID – Also known as TUMS Asset ID, is the active unique identifier associated with each asset in Trimble Unity Maintain.ASSETNUM – Legacy asset identifier associated with the asset in the former Maintenance Management System (MMS), when available.STATUS – Indicates the operational status of the raised pavement marker asset, such as Active, Inactive, Proposed, Abandoned, In Construction, or Unknown.CONTR_INST – Indicates whether the asset was installed by a contractor.DIST_FROM – Distance in miles from the referenced starting cross street.DIST_FROM_DIR – Cardinal direction from the referenced starting cross street: North, South, East, or West.FROM_X_STREET – Cross street used as the beginning location reference for the asset.DIST_TO – Distance in miles from the referenced ending cross street.DIST_TO_DIR – Cardinal direction from the referenced ending cross street: North, South, East, or West.TO_X_STREET – Cross street used as the ending location reference for the asset.LENGTH – Length of the represented roadway segment, stored in miles.MATTYP – Identifies the material type associated with the asset record based on approved domain values.RPM_CODE – Code used to identify or classify the raised pavement marker asset.RPM_QTY – Quantity of raised pavement markers represented by the asset record.RPM_SPACING – Approximate spacing between raised pavement markers, measured in feet.RPM_TYPE – Identifies the raised pavement marker configuration/type, such as One Way, Two Way, Recessed, or None.ORIG_INST_DATE – Original installation date of the raised pavement marker asset, when available.LAST_MAINT_DATE – Date the raised pavement marker asset was last maintained, when available.Last Updated or update frequency: 2026Loaded September 2026 per Ticket #267185
